Children’s Village

Alpine forests, terraced valleys, lush green farmland; a school with classes from pre-kindergarten to Class X, two student hostel complexes, children’s sport facilities, a multi-vocational activity centre and a community of nearly 300 young boys and girls in a small picturesque Eastern Himalayan hamlet near the graceful summit of world’s third highest mountain make up what is called Children’s Village.

Children’s Service Community

The functioning of this small community is by and large taken care of by the children themselves. They are actively involved in helping out with the day-to-day routine kitchen work, maintenance and upkeep of the hostel premises under the watchful eyes of the supporting staff.

Be it academics, games or meditation, the children help each other out with the senior students taking the initiative and responsibility of taking care of and guiding the young children and generally helping in controlling the group.

Truly, this is a unique “village” of the children, by the children, for the children
